I was most afraid to go back and play because of what I experienced in St. Louis. I was afraid. But I knew from my faith and reading the word and going through life that God will be with me if I walk away from the game or if I go back. But the thing I'm most afraid of I probably should go back at," Foles candidly shared.
Bolstered by his wife's support -- "There was a reason I keep it. It was the most amazing letter ever written," Foles said of her encouraging words -- he made the bold move to accept Reid's offer. "I called Andy and told him 'If you'll still have me, I think there's still something inside me. There's still something and I think if anywhere I can get it -- it would be with you,'" he recalled.
Upon joining the Chiefs, Foles experienced a rejuvenation in both spirit and play. His time with the team allowed him to rebuild his confidence, reigniting his passion for football. "I broke down in tears in the film room. I was excited to go to practice again," he said, capturing the emotional weight of his comeback.
Eighteen months later, Foles' faith and perseverance were rewarded in spectacular fashion. Returning to the Eagles, he led them to an unprecedented Super Bowl victory. This triumph etched his name into the annals of NFL history. Not only did he guide Philadelphia to its first-ever championship, but he also became the only quarterback to both throw and catch a touchdown pass in the postseason.
